Chipotle Grilled Chicken Skewers

Ingredients - 12 servings:
1 lb chicken breast, boneless and skinless
1½ tsp. Chile pepper
1 tsp paprika
1tsp oregano leaves
1 tsp garlic salt
½ tsp ground cumin
2 tsp brown sugar
Canola spray

Sauce:
3 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Honey
1 tsp brown sugar
¼ Worcestershire sauce
3-4 drops of Tabasco

Cut chicken into 1-inch wide strips. Combine seasoning and brown sugar in a bowl and mix well. Evenly rub each chicken strip with seasoning mixture until completely coated. Thread the chicken onto metal skewers. Spray each strip thoroughly with nonstick canola cooking spray. Grill over medium heat or broil 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally. Serve with sauce.

Laser Treatment for Fine Lines - Fractional 2940

Looking to minimize and erase fine line and wrinkles from your skin? The Asarch Center offers a laser treatment which may be perfect for you!

The treatment is a fractional treatment - meaning there are tiny microbeams of laser pulses that rejuvenate the skin leaving islands of normal skin between them. These tiny microbeams of laser add a secondary pulse to produce the same improvement seen with the Carbon Dioxide laser but with much less downtime. This treatment permits much faster healing (usually 4-5 days) and any redness is usually gone by 2 weeks. Typically only a single treatment is necessary.
The Fractional 2940 treatment is generally compatible with all skin types and at this time is only used on the face. We use the non ablative Fractional 1540 treatment for areas off the face.

As early as 3000-5000 years ago the Hindus developed Ayurveda, which means “the science of long life.” Aromatic oils, herbs and spices and “waters” were used to restore one to good health. In China the art of massage was considered a healing tool. Hippocrates, considered the father of modern medicine, spoke of massage in the 4th century B.C. as” binding a point that is too loose, and loosening a point that is too rigid.” In the ancient capital city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, the ruins of an ancient hospital consists of medicinal boats, walking meditation centers and flower beds dating back to the 3rd century. Today, people are revisiting the wisdom of our ancestors that one secret to good health is pampering the body, mind and soul with massage, medicine and serenity.

Today the medical day spa is a combination of ancient traditions and technological advances. The medical spa has the advantage of having a full time physician or licensed medical professional (such as a physician’s assistant or nurse) on-site to determine what procedures in combination with products can produce the best and safest results. In the dermatological medical spa the value of prevention, anti-aging treatments and healthy lifestyles with relaxation and facial massage have been rediscovered and appreciated anew. The International Medical Spa association defines a medical spa as a facility that operates under the full-time, on-site supervision of a licensed health care professional and within the scope of practice of its staff, and offers traditional and alternative health practices and treatments in a spa-like setting.

The medical spa reinforces the importance of a relaxing atmosphere. That is why we discourage bringing children to the appointments (as well as your favorite family pet). This is a time for you to take advantage of relaxation and for others that are there to enjoy a relaxing experience as well. Since there are no facilities to accommodate either children or pets, please do not bring them to the dermaSpa. The use of cell phones is also prohibited as they disrupt the atmosphere of serenity that we want to maintain for all of our patients.

Attention to detail is essential in a medical spa from the color of the walls to the fabric of the robes. However, unlike a regular spa where the main goal is to be pampered, a medical spa is more than just a place to receive aesthetic services. Melanoma Rates on the Rise in U.S.

New cases of the deadly skin cancer, melanoma, are increasing among men and women in the United States particularly among older men, researchers report. Rates of the melanoma increased by 3.1 percent in a year, the researchers found.

The melanoma rates are going up among all socioeconomic groups which probably relates to the access to a physician for care. However, it also has increased for all levels of tumor thickness, which is a marker for the severity of the disease. The researchers felt that because the incidence has gone up for both men and women of all social groups and across all levels of cancer thickness, this represents a genuine increase in melanoma cases, not just a sign of better screening.

It is important, especially for fair-skinned people who are at a higher risk for all skin cancers, to monitor themselves and seek medical care if they have any questions. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a yearly skin exam to aid in detecting melanomas and other skin cancers as early as possible. When diagnosed early, skin cancer is totally curable with surgery.

Dr. Asarch has New DermaSpa Skin Nutrition Products!
DermaLuma is a fast, effective and safe approach to skin lightening and hydrating the skin. Skin is considered to be particularly attractive when having a uniform tone. Brownish discolorations of the skin result from pigment production (melanin) by special cells called melanocytes.
In order for this pigment to be produced, the inactive form of melanin has to be converted to the active form. Activation of this converting enzyme, tyrosinase, is triggered by ultraviolet light exposure which then results in a series of chemical reactions leading to pigment formation.
The natural skin whitening agent in DermaLuma is Arbutin (an extract of the Bearberry plant) . At the concentration used in DermaLuma, efficient inhibition of tyrosinase (the enzyme responsible for skin darkening) occurs thereby interrupting the production of pigment. The result is skin lightening and an even skin tone.
DermaLuma is applied morning and night. It is essential to use a potent sun blocking agent at all times any sun exposure may occur.
