CREATOR OF DERMASPA SKIN NUTRITION PRODUCTS
IS NATIONALLY-RESPECTED DERMATOLOGIST
For 30 years, Richard G. Asarch, MD has been providing the highest level of innovative skin care to patients who travel to Denver from, literally, the four corners of the globe.
They come to his state-of-the-art facility -- the Asarch Center for Dermatology and Laser, and its on-site, state-of-the-art DermaSpa in Englewood, Colorado --because they have seen the dramatic results he achieves. Or, they may have heard about the remarkable products he has formulated over the years for his own patients. Or, they come because they have read about him; Dr. Asarch was named one of the top dermatologists in the nation in 1999 and 2003 by Top Doctors in America.
One of America’s best respected dermatologists and dermatologic surgeons, Richard Asarch has always lived where the weather is unfriendly to the skin. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa (with its bone-chilling winters and searing summers), he has lived, raised his family and practiced dermatology in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, where the powerfully attractive sun is an equal opportunity “skin damager,” whether you’re a jetsetter visiting Aspen or a regular year-round Colorado resident.
Over the years, Dr. Asarch searched for skincare products he could recommend to his patients. He discovered, however, that most of the products available in the marketplace did not contain the most advanced agents scientifically proven to be beneficial to skin.
Concerned that he could not wholeheartedly recommend any of these products, Dr. Asarch joined forces with a seasoned chemist to create DermaSpa Skin Nutrition Products and made them available to his patients through the Asarch Center. The results were dramatic, and his patients have been devoted users of his skincare products for many years. Now, Dr. Asarch is making his specially formulated product line for skin nutrition available at a few select stores and on-line for this first time.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Asarch developed and has headed the Dermatologic Surgery Program and Mohs’ Micrographic Surgery section for the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He currently serves as their Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology.
A graduate of the University of Iowa and the University of Iowa College of Medicine, he completed his internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He served as a general medical officer in the U.S. Air Force before returning to the Department of Otolaryngology and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals as a research fellow. He completed a year of general surgery residency at the same institution. While completing his dermatology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, he traveled to the University of Wisconsin to learn the Mohs Micrographic Surgery procedure for the treatment of skin cancer where he studied with Dr. Frederic Mohs.
He is board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology and his major clinical and scientific areas of specialty include dermatologic surgery, laser surgery and skin cancer.
The author of two books, Dr. Asarch wrote Turn Back Your Face Years because he believes better understanding is the first step in maintaining healthy, beautiful skin. The critical role of nutrition in healthy skin became the topic of his next book, The Beautiful Skin Diet, which he wrote with chef de cuisine Neal Mendel. The medical science behind his recommended Two-Week Diet is explained in user-friendly fashion, including delicious recipes developed by the European-trained chef Mendel.
Dr. Asarch and his wife, Elaine, have raised their five children in Denver. Elaine Asarch is playing an active role in bringing DermaSpa Skin Nutrition to a broader audience. A petite brunette with flawless, glowing skin, she is often told she is “the best advertisement” for the line.
